NEWEST SERIES TO THE MASSIVE-VERSE

The series star Bibiana “Bibi” Lopez-Yang

The Dead Lucky

a helmeted hero with electrical powers…as well as…PTSD

MELISSA FLORES and FRENCH CARLOMAGNO (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Magic: Master of Metal) bring you THE DEAD LUCKY, the ongoing superhero comic from the universe of RADIANT BLACK and ROGUE SUN!  Published by Image Comics, and is part of the Massive-Verse.

Bibiana “Bibi” Lopez-Yang is a war veteran suffering from PTSD, after her platoon was killed, leaving her a sole survivor with electric superpowers. Returning home, she finds that San Francisco has become the testing ground for a new form of police; the Morrow tech company has stepped in to curb increasing crime, particularly from the Salvation Gang, with their Guardian robots and cybernetics. As the fighting between the two escalates, Bibi finds herself caught in the middle.

“Readers will not believe that this is Flores’ debut issue. Well written and clearly personal, The Dead Lucky #1 doesn’t shy away from tough issues.”

“The Dead Lucky #1 expands the Massive-Verse with a science-fiction story that balances raw human emotion and cutting-edge technology. Whether you’ve checked out the Massive-Verse’s other books or this is your first exposure to it, it’s well worth a read. Flores, Carlomagno, Iacono, and See have put together something truly special.”

“The “Massive-Verse” continues to get filled with excellent characters, and Bibi is no exception to that.”

“It’s rare that a new comic has leapt right out of the gate with this much confidence and talent behind it, but it’s welcome, both as an example of what the Massiveverse is bringing to the table in terms of superhero stories and how to use a fantastical story to approach real-life issues. In short, it’s a really great comic, and you should definitely check it out.”

“The Dead Lucky’ is a worthy addition to the Massive-Verse with a thoughtful character-driven story. The debut issue sets the foundation for another great hero. Vibrant and engaging, ‘The Dead Lucky’ is off to a promising start.”

“…it’s impossible not to be on Team Bibi. She’s one of the most likable, relatable, and just plain fun protagonists you’re going to find anywhere.”

“The Dead Lucky is instantly vibrant, illuminating, spirited — an eruptive celebration of survivorship and the inevitability of living trauma. Savvy and regretlessly decorated, Flores’ story is a literary embodiment of honoring who we are and the “ghosts” who will forever shape us.” – Dr. Drea, The Arkham Sessions

“As far as first issues go this one has me hooked! High-tech, maybe nefarious corporations? Check! Sci-fi technology mixed with mysterious powers? Double Check! Oh, and the most important thing – heart. All the checks! There’s so much emotion, passion, and drive in this issue that it goes behind a superhero book and becomes a story that MEANS something. There are a lot of choices out there, but this one is worth your time and money to take a chance on. ” – Jeremy Adams, The Flash, Supernatural, Supersons

“DEAD LUCKY gets you on page one, immediately flipping the script on the expected! A modern look at trauma, the price of duty, and the fight to move forward – delivered with vibrant urgency and creativity! Giant Robot Action, an all too human Heart, in a Sentai-influenced superhero ghost story!” – Steve Orlando

The Dead Lucky is an inspired and deeply moving story by our truly gifted friend, Melissa Flores,” said Tash Cox of AL1CE. “My favorite stories are the ones that leave specific imprints on your heart, and we all felt those tugs on ours when diving into The Dead Lucky universe through the eyes of Bibiana. Our intention in creating the music is to weave similar feelings that we had felt when reading Melissa’s powerful story. We are so honored and grateful for the opportunity of this beautiful collaboration.” – Tash Cox
